ESTEPONA TOWN HALL

Registration for municipal nursery schools 2026/2027

The City Council opens the enrollment period for the 2026/27 school year in the five Municipal Infant Schools for children aged 0 to 3 years

The application period for new admissions of children between sixteen weeks and three years old will be open from April 1st to 30th, inclusive. New this year, the socio-educational support service will be free for all one- and two-year-old schoolchildren in Andalusia.

The Estepona City Council informs that on April 1st the admission procedure for the First Cycle of Early Childhood Education in the Municipal Infant Schools El Nido, El Mar, Los Pitufos, Calancha and Cancelada will begin for boys and girls from 0 to 3 years old for the 2026/27 school year.

As a major new development, the socio-educational support service for one- and two-year-olds in centers participating in the 'Family Support Program' will be free of charge starting next school year. This means that all one- and two-year-old children will be able to benefit from this measure announced by the Regional Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training.

The City Council will offer a total of 377 places for the next academic year, of which 43 will be for children under 1 year old, 129 for 1-year-olds, and 205 for 2-year-olds. These places will be distributed as follows: Cancelada 74, Calancha 35, El Mar 102, Los Pitufos 115, and El Nido 51. Applications can be submitted by families with children between 16 weeks and 3 years old, meaning those born in 2026, 2025, and 2024.

Those interested can download the registration forms from https://www.juntadeandalucia.es/educacion/portales/en/web/escolarizacion/0-a-3-anos (forms – Annex II) and can also be obtained from the Town Hall (Avd. Juan Carlos I, 40). Once completed, along with the required documentation, they can be submitted through the Junta de Andalucía's online portal or in person at the Town Hall. Appointments can be scheduled on the Estepona Town Hall website (Appointment - Registration for Early Childhood Education Centers) or in person. The application period for new admissions will be open until April 30th.

The Municipal Infant Schools offer socio-educational services from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including early morning care (7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) and afternoon care (3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), as well as a lunch service. Families can also submit an application for subsidized services along with their new admission application.

The preschools operate through project-based learning. Throughout the school year, they offer a "School for Families" program, open to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other individuals closely involved with the children. For several years now, English has been integrated into the curriculum. The City Council also provides psychological counseling services to parents who may need them, as well as screenings to identify potential developmental delays in children.
