5th "bookface" competition
The City Council announces the fifth 'BookFace' Competition, which rewards the art of blending into a book cover.
The deadline for submitting photographs will be from April 1st to 19th, 2026.
The Estepona City Council informs that the municipal Culture department opens the deadline to participate in the 'V 'Bookface' Contest with the aim of promoting creativity and the habit of reading through the combination of photography and literature.
The contest consists of creating an image by trying to align the cover of a book with the face or body of a person, generating a creative and original visual composition.
This competition is open to anyone registered as a resident of Estepona, regardless of age. Each participant may submit a maximum of two original photographs that have not won prizes in other competitions. The file must be in JPG or PNG format, with a minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and should be sent by email to admbiblioteca@estepona.es, including the participant's full name, age, contact information, and, in the case of minors, authorization from their legal guardians.
The submission period for photographs will remain open from April 1st to 19th, 2026. Photographs that may infringe upon the right to honor, personal and family privacy, or that are disrespectful to religious beliefs and the sexual orientation of individuals will not be accepted into the competition.
The jury will select the three best photographs, taking into account criteria such as creativity, technique, and originality. The winners will receive prizes of €150, €100, and €50, respectively. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 23, International Book Day.
A selection of the participating photographs will be temporarily exhibited at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
