Conference: "the geopolitics of the shopping basket" by manuel pimentel
Estepona City Council announces that Manuel Pimentel will give a lecture in Estepona next Thursday, June 5th. At the conference, the former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs will address the challenges and changes facing today's societies, from food to the economy.
Manuel Pimentel was Secretary General of Employment and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs between 1999 and 2000 during the government of José María Aznar. After leaving politics, he became the founder and editor of the Almuzara Group. Among other activities, he has also hosted the archaeology television program Arqueomanía, which airs on La 2 since 2011.
The conference will be held at the Library of Contemporary Cultures in Estepona at 8:00 PM. Admission is free, with prior registration by emailing bcc@estepona.es.
The Library of Contemporary Cultures, located on eight floors of the Mirador del Carmen, was inaugurated on November 21st with a program of events featuring prominent figures such as filmmaker and former Minister of Culture Ángeles González Sinde; Íñigo Sáenz de Miera, Director General of the Botín Foundation; poets Antonio Lucas and Ben Clark; and musician Alejandro Pelayo (Marlango). The event drew nearly 600 people.
Since then, it has become a cross-cutting space for the generation of cultural, educational, and creative activities.
