Spring of stories for equality
The City Council brings the "Spring of Stories for Equality" activity to schools, featuring the play "No More, No Less."
The story highlights equality between women and men as a means of preventing situations of gender violence.
Estepona City Council announces that the fourth edition of the 'Spring of Stories for Equality' activity, a storytelling series that aims to prevent gender-based violence and promote values-based education, will continue in a total of fourteen schools in the town with 'Ni más ni menos', a story narrated by 'Cientacuentos Cuentapiés' that highlights equality between women and men as a means of preventing situations of gender-based violence.
This initiative is a continuation of the work being carried out by the Municipal Women's Information Center in the fight against gender inequality, with awareness-raising activities among the general public.
The activity will be aimed at groups of preschool and primary school students, chosen by each school based on their needs, and will run from May 6, 7, 9, 20, 22, 23, and 29, with two sessions per day, one per school.
In the words of Councilor for Women, Julia Simón Ortega, "The work of the Women's Department shows us the importance of promoting equality education at increasingly younger ages, directly with children." The councilor also expressed her satisfaction with the positive response to the first activity in the series, which began on April 10 with the storytelling session for adults, "They Also Count," led by psychologist, writer, and storyteller Alicia Acosta.
'Spring of Stories for Equality' is an activity funded by the Andalusian Women's Institute of the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, with funds from the State Pact against Gender Violence of the State Secretariat for Equality and the Pact against Gender Violence of the Ministry of Equality. It aims to "reinforce and expand egalitarian values in education."
