María José Paneque. Archidona (Málaga). “As a child, I moved to Switzerland with my family. From an early age, I was deeply fascinated by the world of the arts. It was in 2004 that I began my journey in the field of painting, in the studio of painter Manuel Pélaez, who facilitated my first group exhibitions. My constant desire to overcome difficulties and evolve toward perfecting my style led me years later to the José Manuel Ruiz Blanco academy, where I gained considerable knowledge,” the artist states.
His work has been exhibited in venues such as the Archidona Town Hall Exhibition Hall, Bil Bil Castle, the Mijas House Museum, the Málaga Provincial Council, and the College of Physicians. Highlights include his work as a finalist in the Real Club Mediterráneo Málaga painting competition; "Los Sonidos del Río," a work selected for the 13th Fundación Agua Granada painting competition; the creation and presentation of the Archidona 2023 Easter poster; and an Honorable Mention in the Felipe Orlando drawing and watercolor competition.
Paneque is currently working on several figurative series where experimentation and research lead him to develop new techniques and creative processes. "Light, color, beauty, and movement are the main concepts addressed in my work, always adopting a contemporary vision," he says.
