The Cine-Club screens 'The Old Oak', a story of hope directed by Ken Loach

It will be on Thursday, November 14, at 8:00 p.m., at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.

Estepona Town Hall informs that the Culture Department's Cine-Club is continuing its autumn cycle with the screening of 'El viejo roble', a dramatic film ranked among the most highly rated films of 2023.

It is a UK-France co-production by veteran British director Ken Loach, and stars Dave Turner, Ebla Mari, Debbie Honeywood and Andy Dawson, among others.

Overview: The film follows the future of the last remaining pub in a decaying village in the North East of England, The Old Oak, where people are abandoning the land as the mines close. Houses are cheap and available, making it an ideal place for Syrian refugees fleeing war. Hope versus capitalism.

The screening will be on Thursday, November 14, at 8:00 p.m., at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center. The film will be in its original version in English with Spanish subtitles. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

Film not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
