Digital camp 2024
The City Council organizes a free workshop to provide digital skills to children and adolescents between 9 and 17 years old
The registration period will remain open until September 23. It will be taught at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center in the afternoon.
Estepona Town Hall informs that the registration period is open for the Digital Camp that will take place between October 7 and November 26 with the aim of providing digital skills to children and adolescents between 9 and 17 years old.
The workshops, free of charge and with a total of 30 teaching hours, will be held in the computer room of the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre and will include content and activities adapted to each age. This action will be carried out thanks to the collaboration agreement between the City Council and the CiberVoluntarios Foundation.
The basic course for children aged 9 to 13 will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the advanced course for young people aged 14 to 17 will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the same schedule.
In addition to learning how to search for valuable information on the Internet, younger students will be able to learn about tools for creating digital content, secure passwords and protecting personal data. They will also receive guidelines for verifying shared information and detecting fake news. Meanwhile, students between 12 and 13 years old will receive advice on controlling screen time, and will learn how to protect privacy and rules of conduct on social networks, as well as how to filter and search for information more effectively, in addition to detecting and preventing cyberbullying.
Participants in the advanced course will be able to acquire healthy habits of disconnection and digital well-being, conscious and responsible use of the Internet and social networks, recommendations on data protection, digital identity and online reputation, as well as digital skills for job searching.
