The City Council opens the deadline for the contest for the best 'Cruces de Mayo Estepona' '24'
Registration will remain open from March 18 to April 12 and the jury will choose the best altars on May 1. Three first prizes of 1,000, 500 and 300 euros have been established, and four second prizes of 200 euros
The Estepona City Council informs that, on the occasion of the celebration of the May Crosses festival, the Festival delegation has organized, for the first day of May, the traditional popular contest in which the beauty of these altars will be rewarded.
The location of the crosses will be carried out, in order of arrival of the requests, in the spaces designated by the Festival delegation, although there may not be more than one cross in the same square or street, nor at a distance of less than 200 meters. between them.
Those interested in participating can consult the rules on the Notice Board of the City Council's Electronic Headquarters and download Annex I that appears at the end of them, which they must present completed, accompanied by a photocopy of the DNI of the person responsible, through the email fiestas@estepona.es. The registration period will remain open from March 18 to April 12.
In this new edition, a single category has been called for the best cross in streets or squares, whose first three finishers will receive 1,000, 500 and 300 euros, respectively, in addition to four second prizes of 200 euros.
The jury will evaluate the beauty of the Cross, the ornamentation of the place where it is installed, the adaptation to tradition, and the craftsmanship and details used in the Cross as a whole.
The jury's visit to the Crosses will take place on the same day of the celebration, Wednesday, May 1, starting at 12:00 p.m., without prior notice.
