Estepona lives its streets 2023

The City Council organizes a new edition of 'Estepona lives its streets' with the XII Tapas Route and the concerts of 'Mojinos Escozíos' and 'Siempre Así'

It will take place on March 24, 25 and 26 and, among other activities, it will offer the VI Cheese Fair, an International Video Mapping Contest and the XIII Ham Cutters Contest 'Popi Trophy, City of Estepona'.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area, Begoña Ortiz, and the councilor attached to the municipal delegation of Culture and Festivals, Macarena Diánez, have presented today a new edition of 'Estepona, Live its Streets', an event that aims to celebrate cultural and leisure activities for all types of public in different parts of the city, so that residents and tourists can enjoy the urban area even more.

The municipal managers have reported the program of activities that will take place on March 24, 25 and 26, including the XII Ruta de la Tapa that will be held during these three days and in which about twenty establishments will participate. In addition, as in the last edition, a tapa and beer, soft drink or water will be offered for 2 euros or a tapa and wine for 3 euros.

People who take this gastronomic tour can pick up their passport at the Tourist Office or at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center. In this way, they will be able to receive in the different bars and restaurants the five necessary stamps to vote for the best tapa. A prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded to the 'Best Tapa' and a raffle for 100 gifts will be held among the citizens who participate with their vote. Among the prizes that will be raffled are hotel nights, concert tickets, electric scooters or gastronomic experiences, among others.

Likewise, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Terraza Street will host the VIII 'Popi, Sabor a Málaga' Cheese Fair. On the other hand, on Sunday, from 12:00 to 16:00, Calle Real will be the setting for the XIII National Ham Cutters Contest 'Popi Trophy, City of Estepona'.

As for musical shows, the councilors have highlighted the performances of the mythical group 'Mojinos Escozíos', which will take place on Friday at 10:00 p.m. on Manuel Navarro Mollor street; and that of the flamenco ensemble and 'Siempre Así', which will take place on Saturday at 10:00 p.m. in the Plaza del Ajedrez.

There will also be a sacred concert by the Magnum Mysterium Choir and the Parque Orquidario will host a tribute to the musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and the Sing&Swing show that will bring back the fabulous 50s. Flamenco shows will also be offered, one by José Rodríguez who will present his first album 'Soy Música', another in Cancelada with the group 'Son de Cái' and the third that will feature the performance of the group formed by Sandra Moreno and Pedro Heredia 'El Pequi' on cante, accompanied by Pepe Ortega on guitar and Gema 'La Milana' on baile'. The final touch of these performances will be the XI Concert 'Pórtico de la Semana Santa' by the Municipal Music Band.

Among the scheduled activities, it is also worth noting the International Video Mapping Contest of the IX 'Estepona CREA' Contest, which will be awarded 6,000 euros and in which around twenty artists from ten countries will project their works on the Clock Tower.

For the little ones, there will be a party that will take place on Saturday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Augusto Suárez de Figueroa square and that will include the 'Yellow Humor' circuit with a mechanical bull, maze, climbing wall, rubber band race and wrestling gladiators.

8:00 p.m. Our Lady of Carmen Church. Sacred Concert of the Magnum Mysterium Choir directed by Miguel Ángel Garrido Sánchez.

8:00 p.m. Orchid Botanical Park. Staging of the play 'Messiah', triduo to the musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar'
