The Estepona Town Hall announces that November 16th is International Flamenco Day, commemorating its designation as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010. This celebration serves to highlight the importance of this cultural expression worldwide. To mark the occasion, the Padre Manuel Cultural Center will host an Open House event, "Discover Flamenco," on Wednesday, November 12th.
This free initiative, aimed at audiences of all ages, from children to young people and adults, includes a flamenco singing workshop, with two sessions, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., after confirming attendance by calling 699778574.
The workshop will be led by the flamenco singer Ana Fargas, director of the Estepona Flamenco Association 'El Patio', and will include an analysis of 'a flamenco style', a musical style or form within flamenco, defined by its rhythm, melody, poetic structure (lyrics)... with some illustrations of this artistic expression, provided by the flamenco singing students of the Association.
The Estepona Flamenco Association 'El Patio' was founded in 2012 and is made up of a group of professionals who put their experience and resources at the service of those who have any kind of interest in music, whether to acquire basic knowledge, or to start in the professional world.
Its greatest value lies in the training and dedication of its staff, who provide each student with the appropriate methodology, depending on their level, developing cognitive, auditory, phonation and body expression aspects.
