Expo collection of works by the artist dãmaso ruano

The opening of the 'Onírico' exhibition will take place on Friday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m., and can be visited until November 19.

The Estepona City Council informs that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Friday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m., an exhibition of paintings by the great Malaga artist Dámaso Ruano (1938-2014).

The exhibition 'Onírico' will consist of a total of thirteen pictorial works of his great legacy. "We are trying to select works that surprise you, that excite you, that take you in some way, to the beautiful world that my father had in his head, and I am sure that it will not leave you indifferent," says Pablo Luis Ruano Cervera, Jr. of the artist.

The exhibition can be seen until November 19, from Tuesday to Friday, from 08:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, with free access . Closed Monday.

The artist Dámaso Ruano was born in Tetouan, Morocco, in 1938. He studied in Madrid until 1958, returning to Morocco where he remained until 1969. From 1960 to 1965, he taught drawing classes, hired by the Government of Morocco, and since that year in 1968, he resides in Kenitra as Director of the Spanish Cultural Mission in that city. He has belonged to the so-called 'School of Tetuan', made up of Spanish and Moroccan artists, with whom he collaborated in group shows and various artistic manifestations.

He has made numerous murals, works of architecture, design and urban planning. He has works in official and private collections in Spain, Morocco, France, the USA, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Ireland and Germany.

He is represented in the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art in Cuenca, the Provincial Museum of the BBAA in Malaga, the Museum of Africa in Madrid, the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving, the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Foundation, etc ... He was awarded the Medal of the City of Malaga 2014 and was named Adoptive Son of the same. In addition, he obtained the Gold Medal from the Ateneo de Málaga.
